Addie Budnik Named Atlantic 10 Rookie Of The Week

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Freshman forward Addie Budnik (Highland Park, Ill.) led the University of Richmond to a perfect 3-0 week and was named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week on Monday.
It is the first A-10 honor for Budnik after averaging 13.3 points per game, five rebounds, four blocks and shot 71.4 percent from the field. Budnik went 15-for-21 from the floor only missing six shots in three games and finished the week with a career-high 23 points at William & Mary.
The Highland Park, Ill. native, also has been a force on the defensive end with 12 blocks on the week, including a career-high five against Gardner-Webb. Budnik came down with 15 rebounds, including 13 defensive boards in the three games.
Budnik, who comes off the bench for the Spiders, shot 8-of-9 from the field against William & Mary and was 5-for-6 from the free throw line. She has scored in double-figures in three of the first four games of the season.
It is the first A-10 Rookie of the Week since Jaide Hinds-Clarke won the honor in the 2016-17 season. The Spiders return to action on Sunday, Dec. 13, against Saint Francis at 2 p.m. inside the Robins Center.
