Gouger Named Academic All-Atlantic 10

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Senior swimmer Hannah Gouger (Cockeysville, Md.) adds another trophy to her collection as the Atlantic 10 Conference has announced that she is one of 11 selected to earn the academic honors. She is a business administration major with a concentration in marketing and is one of the most decorated swimmers in Spider history.

This season, Gouger swam at 11 meets, swimming in both the 100 and 200 backstroke in each meet. She was a member of three relay teams that earned medals at the Atlantic 10 Championships, along with a 12^th place finish in the 50-yard freestyle. She won the 100 and 200 backstrokes at the Atlantic 10 Championships, becoming the first swimmer to sweep the backstroke events in all four seasons, and the third swimmer in Atlantic 10 history to sweep two events in four seasons. Both of her first-place times were NCAA B cut times. She is set to swim at the Olympic Trials later this summer.

Joining Gouger on the Academic All Al-10 Team are Siena Senn of Davidson, Emma Brinton, Lauren Devorace, Hannah Everhart, Clare Flanagan and Carson Gross of Duquesne, Hannah McGee of Fordham, Maja Boric and Beth Luther of UMass and Rachel Kimmel of St. Bonaventure.
