Former Spider Kyle Lauletta Signs With the Atlanta Falcons

RICHMOND, Va. – Former University of Richmond football standout Kyle Lauletta has signed with the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League Wednesday morning.
Lauletta, 25, was selected by the New York Giants in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He spent one season with the Giants, appearing in two games, before he was released and signed to the Philadelphia Eagles practice squad for the 2019 season. Lauletta will battle for a position on the roster that includes veterans Matt Ryan and Matt Schaub.
Lauletta finished his Richmond career as the all-time leading passer and just the fourth quarterback in CAA history to reach the 10,000-yard career mark, finishing with 10,422 yards. He set the Richmond single-season record for total offense with 3,827 yards and was named the CAA Offensive Player of the Year.
Lauletta was named Second Team All-America and was a Dudley Award Finalist after finishing with 31 touchdowns as a senior. He was invited to the Reese's Senior Bowl where he was named the Most Outstanding Player. He finished the Senior Bowl 8-12 for 198 yards and three touchdowns, all in the second half, to lead the South to a 45-16 victory over the North.
