Women’s Lacrosse Lands at No. 12 in Preseason Inside Lacrosse Media Poll

RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond women's lacrosse program has been slated as the No. 12 team in the country according to the preseason Inside Lacrosse media poll, released Monday.
The Spiders are the only Atlantic 10 team in the top-20, but find themselves among fellow Commonwealth programs, including No. 10 James Madison, No. 14 Virginia and No. 16 Virginia Tech.
One of Richmond's statement wins in their undefeated (7-0) and shortened 2020 season came over then No. 6 Virginia, 13-12 in overtime in Charlottesville. The victory marked the first time since 2006 that the Spiders defeated a top-10 program and defeated Virginia since March 1, 2006, in an 8-7 victory at Robins Stadium.
Richmond was also ranked at No. 10 in the Nike/US Lacrosse Magazine preseason poll, released on Jan. 6.
