What's Happening at the Robins Center This Season
11/02/2021 | Men's Basketball
We can't wait to see you back at the Robins Center!  You won't want to miss the home openers on Tuesday, November 9th – Spider women's basketball vs. Charlotte (at 3 p.m.) and Spider men's basketball vs. NC Central (at 7 p.m.) in one of the most highly anticipated basketball seasons in years!
Â
The men's team is poised to have a record-setting season as Richmond welcomes back 15 of 16 players from last year's NIT team, including three Preseason All-Atlantic 10 selections in Jacob Gilyard, Grant Golden, and Tyler Burton. The Spiders were also voted to finish second in the A-10 Preseason Poll!
The women's team returns Preseason All-Conference selection Kate Klimkiewicz and reigning A-10 Rookie of the Year Addie Budnik. The Spiders have improved their winning percentage in each of the last two seasons and will look to do so again in their third year under coach Aaron Roussell.
This 2021-22 campaign also marks the 50th season of basketball at the Robins Center, which opened at the start of the 1972-73 season. Please join us in celebrating this special anniversary of one of the finest college basketball venues in the nation. The centerpiece of the celebration will be a series of videos featuring interviews with some of the biggest names in the Robins Center's storied history, which you can read more about below.
Â
Spider Athletics is looking forward to hosting you and your friends and family this season and we are anxious to get back to the family-friendly environment we missed so much last year.
