Frank Scores in A-10 Semifinal Against No. 12 Saint Joseph’s

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The 2021 season came to a close for the University of Richmond field hockey team Friday in the Atlantic 10 Conference Championship semifinals, falling 8-1 to host No. 12 Saint Joseph's at Ellen Ryan Field.
Richmond wraps up the season with a 5-14 record and 4-3 in A-10 action. Saint Joseph's advances to the Championship contest Saturday with a 15-4 record.
2021 A-10 All-Conference First Team selection Lindsey Frank (Sarasota Springs, N.Y.) tallied the Spiders only goal late in the fourth quarter, sending a shot high past the SJU keeper.
The Spiders collected all four of their penalty corners in the fourth quarter, as well as three of four shots in the game. Frank had three shots for the Spiders while Olivia De Cain (Virginia Beach, Va.) picked up the other one in the second quarter.
Richmond found themselves on the defensive end of the field most of the game, as Saint Joseph's took an early two goal lead in the first quarter. SJU added three more goals in the second quarter and three more in the third.
Junior Erika Latta (Midlothian, Va.) picked up eight saves for Richmond, including five in the fourth quarter.
