Squires Tabbed Atlantic 10 Player of the Week

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Richmond forward Emma Squires has been named the Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball Player of the Week for her efforts this past week, as announced today by the league.
Squires, a native of Kingston, Mass., averaged 19.0 points and 4.5 points to help the Spiders go 2-0 on the week with road wins against Longwood and Florida Atlantic. She shot 76.5 percent from the field, including 7-of-11 from beyond the arc across the week.
On Sunday at FAU, Squires went off for 26 points in the second half to help the Spiders overcome a 12-point deficit to defeat the Owls 81-63. She did not miss a single basket in the second half as she hit 10-of-10 from the field including a career-high 6-of-6 beyond the arc.
Squires and The Spiders return to action Dec. 29 when they host Coppin State at the Robins Center in the non-conference finale. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
