Baseball Picked to Finish Sixth in Atlantic 10 Preseason Poll

RICHMOND, Va. – The Atlantic 10 Conference announced its 2021 Preseason poll Thursday afternoon, Spider baseball was picked to finish sixth in the league by the league's head coaches. The 2019 Regular Season Champion, and last year's preseason pick, VCU sits on top of the poll, followed by the league's 2019 NCAA Tournament representative, Fordham.
Richmond finished the 2020 season at 5-12, but had won two-straight to end the year before the season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Spiders return 24 student-athletes from the 2020 squad, and brought in 20 newcomers, 11 transfers, 10 graduate school transfers for the 2021 season. Richmond will play four of the league's top five teams according to this year's poll.
Richmond opens the season Friday, February 26th as it hosts Mount St. Mary's at 1 p.m. at Pitt field.
