RICHMOND, Va. -- The next step in Spiders freshman Rory Weinfurther's season will take her to Columbus, Ohio. Weinfurther, who won the individual title at the Patriot League Championship on Sunday, is one of six individuals headed to the NCAA Regionals at The Ohio State University Golf Club, the NCAA announced on Wednesday. In addition to the six individuals, 18 teams will compete in Columbus on May 10-12, with the top 12 teams and three individuals advancing to the NCAA National Championship at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz. on May 21-26.Â
In Columbus, Weinfurther will be competing against an accomplished field of individuals that includes four golfers ranked in the top 150 in GolfStat's NCAA Player Rankings and Hartford's Maria Loza, the champion of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.Â
Sunday on the Grace Course at Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem, Pa., Weinfurther carded a 2-over 74 to win the individual Patriot League title by one stroke over Boston's Flair Kuan.
