Goalkeeper Delaney Galvin Joins Women’s Lacrosse Squad

RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond women's lacrosse program has added Marist College graduate transfer goalkeeper Delaney Galvin for the 2022 season.
Galvin, a native of Smithtown, N.Y., was a four-year starter in goal for the Red Fox program, collecting 48 starts in 49 games. She finished her Red Fox career with a 23-26 record, making 557 saves for a .478 save percentage while allowing 609 goals for a career 12.64 goals against average. Galvin also picked up 87 career ground balls and collected 16 caused turnovers.
Galvin was named to the All-MAAC Second Team in 2021, after collecting 82 saves for a .506 save percentage with 10 ground balls, two caused turnovers during the regular season.
She also collected Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference First Team Goalkeeper, Rookie Team and Goalkeeper of the Year accolades her freshman year in 2018, helping her squad to a 10-7 record. Galvin made a career-high 197 saves to lead the MAAC save percentage (.539) and saves per game (11.63), as well as picked up 25 ground balls and five caused turnovers.
Galvin posted a career-high 36 ground balls in the 2019 season and collected MAAC All-Academic honors.
