Jasiah Williams Named CAA Football Rookie of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. – University of Richmond redshirt freshman wide receiver Jasiah Williams (Petersburg, Va.) has been named the Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Week by the league office Monday morning. Williams helped the Spiders to their 16^th-straight home-opening victory Saturday with a 38-14 win over Howard at Robins Stadium.

Williams, a Thomas Dale High School alum, paced the offense with a career-high eight receptions for a career-high 85 yards. He was part of 10 different Spider receivers that caught a pass in the victory and one of seven that had multiple receptions.

Williams helped the Spider offense generate 530 yards of total offense, including 304 yards through the air. The Spiders also did not commit a turnover on offense in the victory. Williams played four games in the shortened spring season and nearly matched his spring season output on Saturday. Last spring, he had 11 catches for 86 yards through four games.

Williams and the Spiders continue their two-game home stretch to open the season this Saturday hosting Lehigh. Game time is set for 2 p.m. at Robins Stadium.
