RICHMOND, Va. – University of Richmond women's lacrosse Interim Head Coach Anne Harrington has released the full 2022 schedule that features nine home games, eight non-conference match-ups and taking on eight in-state programs.
The Spiders return scoring threats in Atlantic 10 All-Conference honorees Lindsey Frank (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) and Arden Tierney (Port Washington, N.Y.), as well as graduate student Nicole Concannon (Syosset, N.Y.). 2021 A-10 Defensive Player of the Year and 2022 USA Lacrosse Preseason All-American Brittney Wright (Moorestown, N.J.) with A-10 Second Team honoree Jax Donohue (Kittery Point, Maine) will anchor the defense for the reigning A-10 regular season champions.
Richmond kicks off the season hosting Old Dominion Feb. 12 at Robins Stadium, before welcoming in William & Mary Feb. 15. Last season, the Spiders collected road victories over each squad, including holding ODU to just two goals.
UR takes a quick trip to Lynchburg to face Liberty for the first time since the 2019 season, when the Spiders came away with a 10-9 road victory.
Richmond hosts 2021 Pac-12 Champion and NCAA tournament team Stanford in the program's first-ever contest Feb. 24. Coastal Carolina heads to Robins Stadium for a March 4 match-up, also a first-ever game between the Spiders and Chanticleers.
UR renews its rivalry with Virginia March 9 in Charlottesville. The Spiders look to hand back a home loss to the Cavaliers at Klockner Stadium as the squads have traded road victories the past two seasons.
Richmond will jumpstart its series with James Madison March 16, heading to Harrisonburg for the programs first meeting since 2018.
The Spiders will close out non-conference action hosting the Wofford Terriers of the Southern Conference March 20, marking the first-ever match-up between the teams.
Atlantic 10 action begins with a road trip to Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. to take on La Salle (March 25) and George Washington (March 27).
April opens with home contests against Duquesne (April 1) and Saint Joseph's (April 3). The Spiders take on the VCU Rams at Cary Street Field (April 8) before heading north to face 2021 A-10 Tournament Champion Massachusetts (April 10).
