Women’s Soccer Announces Eight Signees to 2022 Class

RICHMOND, Va. – University of Richmond head soccer coach Marty Beall has announced eight signees to his 2022 class, which includes two forwards, two midfielders, two defenders, and two goalkeepers.
"I'm very excited to welcome these amazing eight players to Spider Nation. Each one of them will help us grow both on the field and off the field. We have an outstanding group of players returning this fall, and adding this incoming class makes us very excited for the future of Spider soccer," said Beall.
Kiley Fitzgerald | Midfielder | 5-5 | Glen Allen, Va. | Richmond United
Virginia native Kiley Fitzgerald joins the Spider program from Glen Allen High School where she was a First Team All-Region selection her freshman and junior years. In her freshman campaign, she tallied nine assists and seven goals. She followed that up with 14 goals her junior season, and she was ranked No. 21 on Top Drawer Soccer's list of Mid-Atlantic Players.
Fitzgerald was co-captain of her ECNL team, Richmond United, where she helped the team qualify for the ECNL National Playoffs. She was selected for the ECNL Mid-Atlantic PDP regional event in 2018 and the ECNL Mid-Atlantic Conference Selection Program in 2019. She is a two-time member of the US Youth Futsal National team and a two-time US Youth Futsal National Champion.
"I chose the University of Richmond because of the high academic standards along with the beautiful campus. The coaches and players made me feel like I was at home and a part of the Spider soccer family," said Fitzgerald.
Christina Golden | Defender | 5-6 | Hamilton, N.J. | FC Bucks
Christina Golden is a three-time All-Conference and All-Area Selection out of Allentown High School. Her senior year, she was a Preseason New Jersey All-State pick by NJ.com and a High School Girls Soccer All-American Watch List selection by highschoolsoccerallamerican.com. The defender dished out nine assists in her high school career and was named a top freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior by NJ.com. Her junior season, she was named a mid-season candidate for New Jersey Defender of the Year by NJ.com
As a member of her ECNL team, Golden was ranked the No. 2 Club Defender in Pennsylvania for the Class of 2022 by Top Drawer Soccer and the overall No. 6 ranked player by the same publication. She earned ECNL National Playoffs Players Who Impressed honors in 2021 and ECNL National Showcase Best XI honors in 2019. Golden was also named an ECNL Weekly Standout multiple times from 2019-2021 by Top Drawer Soccer.
"I chose Richmond because of its great academics, beautiful campus, strong soccer program, and how much I loved the coaches and players," said Golden.
Tess Jablonowski | Defender | 5-8 | Centerport, N.Y. | East Meadow Soccer Club
As a defender at Saint Anthony's High School, Tess Jablonowski notched seven goals and 10 assists in her career. She helped her team to back-to-back Catholic High School League Championships in 2020 and 2021, as well as the Catholic High School State Championship in 2021.
Jablonowski served as a team captain her senior year and was named to the Girls Athletic Association All-Academic Team. She was also named to the Newsday's Top 100 List of Girls Soccer Players across Long Island.
"There are many reasons why I chose Richmond, but when I first stepped on campus, I knew it was the place for me. The coaches and girls I met at the ID camp were so welcoming and kind and made me feel appreciated as a player and a person," said Jablonowski. "I am so glad that I get to play soccer at such a high level while also continuing my academics at one of the top schools in the country. I love how personalized everything is at Richmond with the small class sizes and can't wait to be on campus next year. Roll 'DERS!"
Sydney Moore | Goalkeeper | 5-8 | Atlanta, Ga. | Tophat Girls Academy
A four-year varsity starter at The Westminster Schools, Sydney Moore is a two-time state champion and a 2021 United Soccer Coaches High School National Champion. Additionally, she is a 2018 Georgia State Cup winner. In her 2021 high school season, Moore recorded 12 shutouts and a goals allowed per game average of 0.188. She also made the 2022 All-State Watch List.
In addition to soccer, Moore lettered in softball four times and basketball three times in high school. She served as team captain for both soccer and softball her senior year.
"The sense of family and community immediately drew me into Richmond, and after meeting the coaches and the team, I knew that the environment would provide me with everything I need to grow and excel, not only as a player, but also as a person," said Moore.
Ana Sadler | Goalkeeper | 5-6 | Ashburn, Va. | Metro United
Ana Sadler, another Virginia native, joined the Spiders from Briar Woods High School. From January 2015-June 2018, Sadler was consistently called up to the US Soccer YNT Identification Center for 04's in Virginia. She was also selected to attend the Girls Academy Mid-Atlantic Conference ID Event in May 2021.
Off the pitch, Sadler served as the Girls Academy Advisory Panel Team Representative for Metro United's U17 Team and held leadership positions within Briar Woods High School's Red Cross Club. She was able to complete numerous service projects ranging from raising money to vaccinate people against measles and rubella in third world countries, assembling comfort kits for people affected by natural disasters, and collecting nonperishable items for local food banks.
"Richmond holds the aspect that I want most out of my athletic and academic years - a challenging environment that will push me to constantly exceed expectations. The driving force for my commitment was the team's atmosphere of hard-working, driven, and uplifting people," said Sadler.
Emma Shields | Midfielder | 5-1 | Franklin, Tenn. | Tennessee Soccer Club 03/04
Emma Shields racked up the accolades throughout her high school career, including two-time District Player of the Year honors (2020 and 2021). She is a four-time all-district and three-time all-state recipient, as well as a USA Today Middle Tennessee High School Sports Award honoree.
Shields scored 14 career goals and dished out 21 career assists while attending Franklin High School and was a state finalist in 2020. She served as team captain in 2020 and 2021, and she was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-South Region Team in 2020.
"I chose Richmond because it's a community that will help me grow athletically and academically. The culture, mindset, and attitude of the team and coaches is something that I can't wait to be a part of," said Shields.
Marisa Snee | Forward | 5-5 | Denville, N.J. | Match Fit Academy
Marisa Snee attended Blair Academy where she notched 23 goals and nine assists across her high school career. She led the Super Essex Conference in goals scored in 2019 and was named to the First Team All-Mid-Atlantic Prep for the 2021-22 season. She was also named Second-Team All-Conference in 2018.
A five-year co-captain of the Match Fit ECNL Club Team, Snee helped lead her team to the ECNL national playoffs in 2018 and 2021. She was ranked in the N.J. Top 100 Girls Soccer Seniors in 2021 and Top 80 Girls Soccer Sophomores in 2018, and she participated in the 2019 Gothia World Cup.
"I chose the University of Richmond because the coaches and program are dedicated to supporting student-athletes in the classroom and on the pitch. Richmond is sincerely interested in fostering successful students, because successful students make successful players," said Snee.
Payton Uhrig | Forward | 5-5 | Basking Ridge, N.J. | PDA North Blue
Payton Uhrig was a three-year varsity starter at Ridge High School where she led her team to a Group Four State Championship in 2020. She was named to the All-Skyland Conference Team in 2019 and 2020. Uhrig served as team captain her senior year at Ridge and was named to the NJ.com Top Forwards List in 2020 and 2021.
As a member of the PDA North Blue ECNL Team since 2017, Uhrig's team went undefeated and ranked as high as No. 1 in 2021. She also helped her team advance to the 2021 ECNL playoff semifinals that year.
"When I first visited Richmond, I knew immediately I had found the culture I was looking for both academically and athletically. The coaches and players immediately made me feel at home, and I can't wait to become a part of the spider family," said Uhrig.
