Spiders Conclude Day One at Patriot Invite

Richmond, Va.— The University of Richmond swim team completed day one at the Patriot Invite hosted by George Mason Thursday night.
Richmond took fourth in the 200 free relay with Claire O'Shaughnessy, Abby Fuller, Julia Krichev and Lauren Medlin taking fourth with a time of 1:34.66.
The meet, which features teams from American, Florida Atlantic, George Mason, Marist and Towson saw Caitlyn Hughes swim a 5:03.57 for sixth in the 500 free, O'Shaughnessy take fifth in the 200 IM with a 2:03.97 and Fuller finish sixth in the 50 free with a 23.61.
Richmond's 400 medley relay of Caroline Weldon, Sara Greene, O'Shaughnessy and Hughes took seventh with a 3:50.56.
After one day of competition, the Spiders are in fourth place with 140 points. Action resumes Friday beginning with prelims at 10 a.m. and finals at 6 p.m.
