Spiders Passed by James Madison Saturday

Richmond, Va. – The University of Richmond swimming and diving team fell in a dual meet at James Madison on Saturday by a score of 197-111.
The Spiders day was highlighted by sweeps in the 100 backstroke and 100 freestyle.
Carstyn Klosterman won the 100 back with a 1:01.78 posting, while Julia Krichev finished second with a 1:03.77 and Caitlyn Hughes finished third with a 1:04.87. In the 100 free, Lauren Medlin led the Spiders with a 54.20, Abby Fuller took second with a 54.86 and Emma Martin followed with a 56.99 for third.
Other Spider highlights included freshmen Katie Chignell (1:55.21) and Caitlyn Hughes (1:55.84) finishing second and third in the 200 freestyle. Chignell then took third in the 500 free with a 5:12.44 clocking.
Sara Greene took second in the 200 breast with a 2:23.48, while Christina Levins followed with a 2:25.71 for third. Medlin finished third in the 50 free with a 24.00.
Jenna Miller recorded a 1:10.07 for second in the 100 breaststroke and Mattie Williams followed with a 1:12.94 for third.
Caroline Weldon touched at 2:07.19 in the 200 backstroke and Claire O'Shaughnessy took third in the 100 butterfly with a 59.29.
Fuller swam a 2:18.68 for third in the 200 IM and Natalie Stuart clocked a 10:39.05 for third in the 1,000 free, while Alexa Connors followed for fourth with a 10:40.36.
