Women’s Track & Field Opens Season at VMI Team Challenge

Richmond, Va. – The University of Richmond Track & Field team opened its season Saturday, finishing third with 64.5 points at the VMI Team Challenge.
Madison Trippett won the mile with a time of 4:57.83, while Anna George followed with 5:11.20 for second and Allison Colflesh took third with a 5:14.21.
Kamryn Ross tied for first with a 8.71 in the 60m hurdles, while Nina Lavelle took seventh with a 7.93 in her collegiate debut. Ross then went on to take second in the 200 with a 25.23 while Lavelle followed with a 25.71 for fourth.
Gabrielle Beneducci finished sixth in the 400 with a 1:00.74, while the trio of Virginia Beringer (1:34.69), Dylan Miller (1:39.80), and Morgan Lyons (1:42.51) went third, seventh and 10th, respectively.
The relay of Beringer, Ross, Lavelle and Lyons then teamed up for a 3:58.52 showing good enough for third in the 4x400.
The team returns Jan. 13-14 when it travels to Blacksburg for the Virginia Tech Invitational.
