Women's Track & Field Competes at Virginia Tech Invitational

Richmond, Va.- The University of Richmond Track & Field team competed in the Virginia Tech Invitational in Blacksburg on Friday and Saturday to open the new year.
Virginia Beringer won the 500m with a time of 1:15.21, setting a new personal best.
Freshman Caroline Donohoe took first place (2:17.27) in the 800m in only her second collegiate outing.
Molly Wise placed 2nd among collegians (3rd overall) with a jump of 5.88m in the Long Jump. Her mark is a personal best by nearly 12 inches and ranks #1 within the Atlantic 10 Conference.Â
In the 1000m, Kyra Keurentjes (2:50.06) and Kayla O'Connell (2:54.28) took third and fourth place. Their marks rank first and second in the A10. Keurentjes performance is currently ranked NCAA #21.Â
Kamryn Ross placed 3rd in section one of the 60H. Her 8.72 effort was good enough to advance her to the final in the event.

Trippett (3:30.28), Morgan Lyons (60.63), Beringer (2:21.9) and Stockman (5:07.3) teamed up in the Distance Medley Relay to close the meet for the Spiders. Their performance of 12:00.25 currently ranks as the top mark in the Atlantic 10 and sixth among NCAA D1 teams.
The team returns Jan. 20-21 when it travels to Virginia Beach for the Marlin Invitational.Â
