Swimming & Diving Finishes Third at A-10 Championships

Geneva, Ohio— The University of Richmond swimming and diving team finished third overall at the 2022 Atlantic 10 Championships at the SPIRE Institute. Backed by eight medals, the Spiders finished with 487 points.
On Wednesday, the Spiders made two trips to the podium when Claire O'Shaughnessy and Lauren Medlin both took silver in their respective events. Medlin took second in the 100 free with a 49.72 and O'Shaughnessy touched at 2:00.99 for runner-up in the 200 fly.
Behind Medlin, Lucy Yeomans swam a 50.88 for ninth and Abby Fuller finished 12th with a 51.30.
Katelyn Pennell finished fourth in the 200 back with a 1:57.31 and Carstyn Klosterman followed with a 1:58.38 for 10th.
Maggie Purcell finished in 2:14.11 for fifth in the 200 breast while Sara Greene was right behind her, finishing sixth with a 2:15.44 clocking. Christina Levins finished 12th with a 2:18.36 and Laura Davis swam a 2:20.02 for 13th.
In total, the Spiders claimed two gold (200 medley relay, 200 free relay), two silver (100 free, 200 fly) and four bronze (400 medley relay, 200 free, 50 free, 800 free relay) medals at the championships.
