Spiders Fall to Davidson in A-10 Championship Quarterfinals

ORLANDO, Fla. – The fifth-seeded University of Richmond men's tennis team closed out its season Friday afternoon with a 4-1 loss to fourth-seeded Davidson in the A-10 Championship Quarterfinals, which is taking place at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla.

Campbell Erwin and John Walsh quickly took doubles court two, 6-2, to improve to 13-4 as a duo this season. However, Richmond dropped the doubles point as courts one and three were each tied 4-4 before Davidson took both, 6-4.

Davidson went up 3-0 in the match with singles wins on courts two and six, but Sebastian Miano secured a point for Richmond with a 6-0, 7-5 win on court four. After splitting his first two sets, Erwin was ahead 2-1 in the third set on court three and Daniel Kliebhan was up 6-4, 6-6 on court one when Josh Keitelman lost his battle at court five, 6-2, 3-6, 6-2.
