Brittney Wright Named to IWLCA All-Region Team

Northborough, Mass.— Adding to her slew of awards and honors this year, graduate defender Brittney Wright has been named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-South Region Second Team.
The organization honored 128 student-athletes in Division I with a selection to one of the All-Region teams for 2022. These student-athletes are now eligible to be named to a national IWLCA All-American team. The IWLCA will announce the 2022 All-American teams on May 26.
Also earning the honor in 2021, Wright Spent her final season of eligibility racking up national awards an honors. Wright was recently named an All-American Honorable Mention by USA Lacrosse Magazine and was named the Atlantic 10's Defensive Player of the Year for the second-consecutive year. the Moorestown, N.J. native earned USA Lacrosse Magazine NCAA Division I Preseason All-America Third Team honors in December and was named an Inside Lacrosse NCAA Division I Preseason All-American Honorable Mention and Inside Lacrosse's preseason A-10 Defensive Player of the Year in January. She was also named the Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week for April 4 after standout performances against Duquesne and Saint Joseph's.
The de facto leader of Richmond'S 13th nationally-ranked scoring defense finished the season with 15 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers while halting opponents' offensive output.
