Galvin Selected to Play in IWLCA Senior All-Star Game

Northborough, Mass.— Delaney Galvin has been selected to play in this year's Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Senior All-Star Game, this Sunday, June 5 at the USA Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Md. Opening draw is set for 12:45.
In her final year of eligibility, Galvin started all 18 games in the cage for the Spiders, racking up 169 saves and a goals against average of 9.90. The Smithtown, NY native ended the year ranked fifth in the NCAA in saves percentage (.508) and 13th in total saves.
Her goalkeeping helped earn the Spiders the No. 13 scoring defense in the country (9.50 GAA) and No. 9 ranking in saves percentage (.501). Her GAA and save percentage both ranked second in the A-10 and her save percentage ranks seventh all-time for Spiders in a single season.
Those chosen to play were nominated by their coaches and the players selected in each Division were divided into two teams: North and South. A full list of participants can be found here.
Galvin is one of 129 players from across the NCAA's three divisions to be named an IWLCA Senior All-Star. Galvin will join JMU's Molly Dougherty as goalies representing the Division I South team.
Together, the pair accounts for 1,341 total career saves, with Galvin (724) finishing her career first on the NCAA's active career leader rankings while Dougherty (617) finishes fifth all-time.
Galvin joins UMass' Brinley Anderson and Olivia Muscella as well as Saint Joseph's Taylor Newman-Farr as representatives from the Atlantic 10. Galvin and the South team will be led by Towson's Sonia LaMonica, while the North is under the guidance of Navy's Cindy Timchal.
The event will not be streamed, however admission is free.
