Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Finish Third at Spider Alumni Open

MECHANICSVILLE, Va. – The University of Richmond cross country team began the 2022 campaign Saturday morning by hosting the Annual Spider Alumni Open at Pole Green Park. The men ran a 6K to begin the day followed by the women who ran a 4K.
The Spider men came in third as a team, led by Peter Borger who finished 4th with a time of 17:36.8. Right behind him was Stuart Terrill in 5th coming in at 17:43.0. James Quinn was the next Spider to cross the finish line, placing 15th with a time of 18:24.0. Rounding out the top five for Richmond was Jordan Bendura in 22nd place at 18:45.0 and Evan Leach in 27th place at 18:51.0.
On the women's side, the Spiders came in third led by Elizabeth Stockman who finished 10th at 13:47.6. Madison Trippett followed right behind her coming in 11th place with a time of 13:48.8. Laurel Kurtz and Izzy Blaylock each finished in the top 20, coming in 16th at 13:59.0 and 19th at 14:04.3, respectively. Anna George rounded out the top five for the Spiders with a 23rd place finish at 14:14.1.
Next up for the Spiders is the Navy Invitation in Annapolis, Md. Friday, Sept. 16.
