Spiders Drop Meet to Navy After Relentless Efforts

Richmond, Va. - The University of Richmond swimming and diving team fell to Navy on the road in Annapolis, Md. by a score of 152-113 on Friday evening.

The Spiders pulled off an impressive performance in the 50 as Lauren Medlin took first (23.88) and Abby Fuller took second (24.02).

Abby Fuller, Julia Krichev, Caitlyn Hughes and Lauren Medlin worked together seamlessly to win the 200 freestyle relay (1:35.23) ahead of six other groups.

Sally Harrington brought home two personal bests in the 1 meter (248.48) and 3 meter (242.85) competitions as the sole Spider to compete in the diving portion of the meet, pushing her way through three Navy divers.

Claire O'Shaughnessy brings back a pair of second place finishes in the 100 (58.03) and 150 (1:32.32) butterfly.

Caroline Weldon also took a pair of second place finishes, fighting hard in the 100 backstroke (57:36) and the 150 backstroke (1: 31.71).

Up next, the Spiders head to Charlottesville, VA to compete in the UVA First Chance Meet.
