Women’s Basketball set for A-10 Championship as No. 5 Seed

RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond Women's Basketball team discovered Saturday it will enter the 2023 Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball Championship, set for Mar. 1-5 in Wilmington, De. inside Chase Fieldhouse, as the No. 5 seed.
Richmond finished the regular season with an 18-9 record and an 8-6 mark in the A-10 and earned its highest seed since the 2014-2015 season. During the 2014-15 postseason run, the No. 5 Spiders defeated No. 13 UMass, 67-63 in the first round, and then fell to No. 4 Fordham in the quarterfinals, 46-45. Last season, the team entered the tournament as the No. 8 seed, ultimately falling to No. 9 Davidson, 66-62, in the opening game.
The Spiders will have a bye on day one of the tournament and play their first game on Mar. 2 at 1:30 p.m. against the winner of No. 12 Dayton and No. 13 VCU, slated for Mar. 1 at noon. The Spiders will be streamed on ESPN+, and tickets can be purchased on the A-10 Championship page, or the Women's Basketball schedule page.
