Spiders Bring Back Thirteen ECAC Qualifying Times and Eighteen Personal Records from Scarlet Knight Invitational

Richmond, Va. - The University of Richmond Track and Field team competed in the Scarlet Knight Invitational hosted by Rutgers in New York, N.Y. on Friday and Saturday. The Spiders were able to bring back thirteen ECACÂ qualifying times and eighteen personal records to Richmond.Â
The competition started off extremely strong for the Spiders as Madison Trippett took an early first place finish in the 5k (16:48.90). Trippett edged out all other competitors by nearly a whole minute. The win for Trippett sets a new indoor personal best. Laurel Kurtz grabbed third (17:46.13) and Manon Stephen took ninth (18:14.27). Kurtz set a new indoor personal best with her time and Stephen set a new overall personal best with hers.Â
Freshman Nina Lavelle had an impressive performance in the 400m where she placed second in section 8 and eleventh overall. Her efforts were strong enough to claim a new personal best of 58.60. Lavelle returned for the 200m where she placed third (25.82) in section 8 and twenty-second overall out of eighty-six runners in the event.Â
Caroline Donohoe debuted in the 600m for the start of her college career. Her time of 1:38.32 placed her in fifth in section 3 and eighteenth overall.Â
With many Spiders competing in the 1k, the results led in the favor for the team. Lindsay Colflesh (2:54.80) and Dylan Miller (2:55.72) set personal bests in the 1k and qualified for ECAC Championships as they placed second and fourth in section 2. Later on, Kyra Keurentjes (2:48.39-PB) and Kayla O'Connell (2:49.84) ran the #1 and #2 times in the A-10 and qualified for the ECAC championships as they placed fourth and sixth.
The mile was also accounted for a successful mark for the Spiders. Elizabeth Stockman (4:53.82) claimed third overall and Allison Colflesh (4:57.11) ran a personal best for third place in section 2. Both of their marks were good to claim ECAC qualifications.Â
Kamryn Ross pushed through the section 3Â 60mH preliminary round with a time of 8.71 to advance to the final. In the final, Ross ran a season best of 8.60 to place sixth. This improves her ECAC qualifying mark set earlier this season of 8.71. Ross returned to the track for the 200m as she placed second (25.22-SB) in section five and 12th overall.Â
Molly Wise impressively won section 1 of the 60m in 7.96.Â
Lindsay Colflesh returned for the Spiders in the 800m within section 3 for a personal best (2:13.68). This qualified her for the ECAC championships. The 800m competition continued for Richmond as Kate McAndrew ran 2:14.04 to place second in section 2 for her season debut. Her mark qualified her for the ECAC Championships. Dylan Miller won section 5 with a personal best of 2:16.01 alongside teammates Morgan Lyons (2:19.99-college PB) and Maddie Orr (2:21.64-debut) placing fourth and sixth in the section. Caroline Donohoe ran 2:17.27 to place second in section 4. Donohoe's mark was a personal best as she improved her early season mark of 2:17.27. Kyra Keurentjes ran an indoor personal best to place fifth (2:08.87) and move to the top of the A-10 rankings. Kayla O'Connell placed sixth in a season best 2:10.71 to move to third on the A-10 list. Both Keurentjes and O'Connell claimed a spot at the ECAC championships with their marks.
To close out the competition for the Spiders, Brooke Reif won section 2 with a time of 10:17.53 for her first ever indoor race and Richmond debut on the track. Teammates Anna George (10:22.00) and Paige Joyce (10:24.55-PB) placed sixth and ninth.
The team returns Feb. 10-11 when it travels to Lynchburg, Va. to compete in the Darius Dixon Invitational, hosted by Liberty.Â
The University of Richmond Cross Country team also found success at the invitational:
-Stuart Terrill won the 5k with a personal best of 14:19.43 (IC4A qualifying mark).
-Jordan Bendura ran a personal best in the 3k (8:24.00) to place seventh (IC4A qualifying mark).
-Robert Gunia ran a personal best in the 5k of 14:58.62.
-Evan Leach ran a personal best in the 5k of 14:59.44.Â
-Tanner Crochet ran a personal best in the 5k of 15:00.33.
-Riley Fletcher ran a personal best in the mile (4:17.61) to place seventh in section 2.Â
-Jake Schindel ran the mile (4:22.44) to place ninth in section 1.
-William Marhold ran a personal best in the mile (4:23.48), winning section 4.
-Jason Latina ran a personal best in the mile (4:33.85).
-Henry Haase ran a personal best in the 3k (8:39.60) to place third in section 2.Â
-Jade Mawn ran a personal best in the 3k (8:47.94) to place eleventh in section 2. Â
