Latta Collects Westhampton College Senior Leadership Award

RICHMOND, Va. – Richmond Field Hockey senior goalkeeper Erika Latta was named a 2023 Westhampton College Distinguished Leadership Award honoree, the University announced.
The Distinguished Leadership Award is presented annually to up to fifteen Westhampton College seniors in the form of a medal to be worn during commencement. The award recognizes individuals who, during their time at the University of Richmond, have contributed significantly to the college, the university, and the local community. Their leadership is consistent and evident through their classroom, student organization, sports team, or community service involvement.
Latta finished her goalkeeping career with 196 saves and 2.35 goals against average, making 37 starts in the cage over 43 games played. She was also named 2021 All-Atlantic 10 Second Team as well as a 2022 Preseason All-Atlantic 10 honoree. In the 2021 season, she collected two A-10 Defensive Player of the Week accolades.
Off the field, Latta has served on the leadership board for Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, handling the planning and execution of the annual SPIDYs Awards. She is also an active student worker in the Athletic Department, helping with communications, photography, graphic design, marketing and game day production during the basketball season.
