Spiders Round out Regular Season with Dominant Sweep over Saint Joseph’s

RICHMOND, Va. The University of Richmond Women's Tennis team picked up a dominating 7-0 victory over Saint Joseph's Friday afternoon in the regular season finale. With the win, the Spiders improved to 8-14 on the year, 3-2 in Atlantic 10 action and pushed their win streak to four-straight matches.
The Spiders will look ahead to the A-10 Championship, slated for Apr. 27-30 in Orlando, Fla.
In doubles action against the Hawks, duo Polina Shitikova and Andrea Campodonico took their court one match 6-1, while Marta Buendia and Claire Le Du took their court two match 7-6 (1). Lara Bakhaya and Elizabeth Novak clinched the final doubles point for the Spiders, taking their court three match 6-1.
In singles, all six matches swayed in favor of the Spiders as Leonor Oliveira handled business on court one, 6-0, 6-2, and Carly Cohen won a hard-fought tiebreaker over Charlotte Kordonowy 6-1, 5-7, 10-3 on court two. Campodonico took her court three match 6-1, 6-1, while Novak won 6-0, 6-2 on court four. Le Du defeated Sophia Amato, 6-3, 6-2 on court five and Buendia took down Ireland Amato, 6-3, 6-0 on court six for the 7-0 sweep.
