
Frank, Tierney Named USA Lacrosse Magazine All-Americans

Richmond, Va. – USA Lacrosse Magazine released its Division 1 Women's All-Americans Tuesday with University of Richmond senior Lindsey Frank and senior Arden Tierney being named All-American Honorable Mentions.
Frank takes the honor after a strong season where she helped lead the Spiders to their first Atlantic 10 Women's Lacrosse Championship since 2019 as she was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player and earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team. She led the Richmond offense to the Atlantic 10 title with 13 points from 8 goals and 5 assists through the victories over Saint Joseph's and No. 12 nationally ranked UMass. Her performance through the week gained attention throughout the nation as she was named the USA Lacrosse Magazine Division 1 Player of the Week.
Frank leads the Spiders in goals with 59. Along with her ability to find the back of the net, Frank is third in the program with assists (21), tied for first in ground balls (32) and second in draw controls (67).
In the regular season matchup against La Salle, Frank hit the career mark of 200 points, etching her name in the Richmond history books for years to come. She has played a large influence for the Spiders in the national rankings as they currently sit as the No. 3 scoring offense in the country and No. 4 in points per game.
Tierney, the 2023 Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Year, earns All-American honors after leading Richmond in points (85), assists (40) and draw controls (173). She played a large role in the Atlantic 10 title run with 7 points from 6 goals and 1 assist, along with 19 draw controls through the games against Saint Joseph's and UMass.
During the regular season, Tierney found herself hitting multiple milestones. In the 18-6 win over La Salle, Tierney become the single season draw control program record holder while also hitting the mark of 200 career points. On Senior Day with a 20-4 win over Duquesne, Tierney became the career draw control program record holder, blowing past the previous record of 362. She now sets the record at 389 heading into the NCAA Tournament.
With her dominance in the draw circle and ability to score on all levels, Tierney has been a key factor for the Spiders in the national rankings as they currently sit at No. 1 in draw controls per game (18.95), the No. 3 scoring offense (16.68), No. 4 draw control percentage (.623) and No. 4 in points per game (24.26).
The Spiders will travel to Chapel Hill, N.C. to play No. 22 Marquette at 5:00 p.m. at Dorrance Field in the first round of the 2023 NCAA Tournament.
