RICHMOND, Va. – University of Richmond Head Coach Aaron Roussell announced the addition of AJ Wahl as Video Coordinator to the Spider Women's Basketball staff on Wednesday.
"AJ has already made an impact in our program in his short time with us," Roussell said. "He is ahead of his time with his knowledge of the game, and his tireless work ethic will pay big dividends for our players and the whole program."
Wahl, a Chagrin Falls, Ohio native, joins the staff following a year-and-a-half-long stint as the assistant varsity boy's basketball coach for the Trinity Episcopal School in Richmond, Va. At Trinity, he managed and oversaw video and analytics, as well as assisted with in-game strategies and lineup decisions.
Prior to his time at Trinity, Wahl spent two years as a student manager for the Villanova Women's Basketball team. With the Wildcats, he filmed practices and games, as well as tagged videos to assist in the scouting and coaching process. He also compiled recruit scouting videos and reports to aid recruiting decisions and assisted the Wildcats during the 2021-22 season when the team went 24-9 under the direction of Big East Coach of the Year Denise Dillon.
"I am so excited to be a part of this program and contribute to the winning culture of the Spider program," Wahl said. "I hope my experience in video and analytics can bring new perspectives that help us reach our goal of an A-10 Championship and a deep postseason run!"
