Montgomery Announces 2023 Spider Hockey Schedule

RICHMOND, Va. – Richmond Field Hockey Head Coach Jamie Montgomery has announced the Spiders 18-game schedule for fall 2023.

UR will face all seven Atlantic 10 Conference opponents, culminating with the top four programs advancing to the league Championship in November, hosted by VCU at Cary Street Field in Richmond. The Spiders will take on 11 non-conference teams from six different conferences with two league independent programs.

Richmond opens with four-straight non-conference home games, hosting Longwood and James Madison prior to the start of the 2023-24 academic year at Crenshaw Field. Programs from the nation's capital, American and Georgetown, head to the capital of the Commonwealth to open September, before Richmond travels to California to take on Stanford and UC Davis.

UR opens A-10 action on the road September 15 at Davidson before taking on Division I newcomer Queens University in Charlotte. The Spiders then have three-straight league games, hosting Saint Louis on Senior Day and Lock Haven over UR Family Weekend to close September and a neutral site game against La Salle to kick off October.

In October, the Spiders will head to Baltimore to face Towson before a quick stop at Crenshaw Field to host defending A-10 Champion Saint Joseph's. UR will return to the road for three-straight games, heading to Old Dominion, UMass and Yale. Spider Hockey will close the regular season at Crenshaw Field hosting cross-town rival VCU and William & Mary Homecoming and Halloween weekend.
