Women’s Basketball Receiving Votes in Latest AP Top 25 Poll

RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond Women's Basketball team is receiving votes in the latest Associated Press (AP) Top 25 Women's College Basketball Poll.
Head Coach Aaron Roussell and the Spiders are off to a 7-0 start in Atlantic 10 Conference play, are riding a 16-game home winning streak inside the Robins Center (good for eighth longest out of NCAA DI teams) and are on an eight-game winning streak. Richmond has picked up huge wins over conference foe VCU at home, as well as Saint Joseph's and Davidson on the road.
The Spiders will be back in action on Jan. 24 at 6 p.m. at Duquesne before traveling to defending A-10 Champion Saint Louis on Jan. 28 at 3 p.m. ET.

- Against Dayton (W, 72-39), Richmond held the Flyers to only three points in the first quarter, lowest number of points allowed in a quarter this season and posted a season-low for points allowed in a game.
- The Spiders picked up their first road win over Davidson (W, 59-54) since 1/28/17.
- Richmond snapped a seven-game skid dating back to 2019 against Rhode Island on 1/14/24 (W, 71-67) and picked up the team's first win over the Rams inside the Robins Center since 2/5/17.
- Grace Townsend eclipsed 1,000 career points against Rhode Island with 5:04 left in the game to become the 28th Spider to reach the milestone.
- The win against Massachusetts on 1/10/24 (W, 79-65) marked the first win over the Minutewomen inside the Robins Center since 2/15/17 and snapped a six-game skid against the Minutewomen dating back to 2018.

- Went 3-0 in the Vibrant Thanksgiving Classic with huge wins over Maine (W, 77-43), Drake (W, 74-66) and Louisiana Tech (W, 83-56).
- Following the Vibrant Thanksgiving Classic, Maggie Doogan was named tournament MVP, Ann Meyers Drysdale National Player of the Week and A-10 Player of the Week.
- Ally Sweeney was named A-10 Rookie of the Week on 12/18/23, the team's first honor since Doogan on 1/30/23)
- Addie Budnik was named a finalist for the RVA Sports Awards Female Athlete of the Year.
- Budnik is fifth in the NCAA in active career leaders for blocked shots (250).
