Spiders Wrap Up Successful Weekend at VMI Invitational and Patriot Games

Lexington, Va. – The University of Richmond track & field program closed their weekend with a strong second day at the VMI Invitational on Saturday. The day was highlighted by Alicia Dawson's performance in the triple jump where the graduate student took the 1^st place finish with a new personal best.

Alicia Dawson capped off her already successful week with the 1^st place victory in the triple jump as she finished with a 12.48 measurement. She now holds the No. 2 all-time mark for the event in Richmond program history. Her 12.48 jump is ranked No. 1 in the Atlantic 10 conference and No. 12 in the ECAC.

The Spiders dominated the 400m as they took the top three finishes in the event. Nina Lavelle took the 1^stplace win with a personal best of 57.43. Virginia Beringer followed close by, taking the 2^nd place finish at 57.48. Caroline Donohoe was next to cross the finish line in 3^rd place with a mark of 57.65.

The 800m added another strong event to Richmond's final results. Lindsay Colflesh crossed the finish line at 2:16.55, winning the event. Dylan Miller grabbed 2^nd place soon after at 2:17.60. The Spiders then took 4^th-6^thplace, totaling five top-10 performances in the event:

Allison Colflesh – 2:18.87
Isabel Blaylock – 2:19.61
Brooke Reif – 2:20.05

Blaiklyn Clayton found success in the 200m with the 3^rd place finish at 25.02.

To close out their successful weekend, the Spiders took control of the 4x400, taking both 1^st and 2^nd place:

1^st place – 3:50-90: Kyra Keurentjes, Virginia Beringer, Morgan Lyons, Caroline Donohoe
2^nd place – 3:53.48: Elke Van der Westhuizen, Nina Lavelle, Gabrielle Cummings, Blaiklyn Clayton

Elizabeth Stockman represented the Spiders at the George Mason Patriot games on Saturday in Fairfax, Va. where she took the 1st place finish in the 1K at 2:46.67. Stockman's mark leads the Atlantic 10 ranks and is the No. 3 all-time finish for the event in Richmond program history.

Up next, the Spiders will travel to Piscataway, NJ to compete at the Scarlet Knight Open hosted by Rutgers.
