Spiders Return to Action at Scarlet Knight Open

Piscataway, NJ – The University of Richmond track and field program will return to action at the Scarlet Knight Open this weekend. Competition will span from February 2-3 as Rutgers is set to host the meet.
Competition will begin at 10:00am on Friday and Saturday, follow live results here.
Watch out for performances from the following:
WOMEN:
Virginia Beringer, Kyra Keurentjes, Caroline Donohoe and Morgan Lyons pulled together an incredible performance in the 4x800m, taking the 1st place finish. The 8:53.21 mark now stands as the top current time in the NCAA, ECAC and Atlantic 10. The four Spiders shattered the Corps Physical Training Facility record which previously stood at 9:07.22. This mark is No. 3 all-time for the program.
The Spiders dominated the 400m as they took the top three finishes in the event. Nina Lavelle took the 1stplace win with a personal best of 57.43. Virginia Beringer followed close by, taking the 2nd place finish at 57.48. Caroline Donohoe was next to cross the finish line in 3rd place with a mark of 57.65.
The 800m added another strong event to Richmond's final results. Lindsay Colflesh crossed the finish line at 2:16.55, winning the event. Dylan Miller grabbed 2nd place soon after at 2:17.60.
Blaiklyn Clayton found success in the 200m with the 3rd place finish at 25.02. This mark earned Clayton a spot in the Richmond history books as the No. 6 all-time finish in program history for the event. She has qualified for the ECAC Championships with this performance.
Kyra Keurentjes, Virginia Beringer, Morgan Lyons and Caroline Donohoe grouped together to win the 4x400 at 3:50.90. Elke Van der Westhuizen, Nina Lavelle, Gabrielle Cummings and Blaiklyn Clayton followed soon behind in 2nd place (3:53.48).
Elizabeth Stockman represented the Spiders at the George Mason Patriot games on Saturday in Fairfax, Va. where she took the 1st place finish in the 1K at 2:46.67. Stockman's mark leads the Atlantic 10 ranks and is the No. 3 all-time finish for the event in Richmond program history.
