Women’s Basketball Receives Votes in USA Today Sports Preseason Coaches Poll

RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond women's basketball team has received votes in the USA Today Sports Preseason Women's Basketball Coaches Poll, announced on Thursday. The Spiders, who finished last season with a 29-6 record, are one of 12 mid-major programs to receive recognition, garnering six votes in the preseason poll.
Richmond will open its 2024-25 campaign on the road against Temple on Nov. 4 at 8 p.m. Texas, who visits the Robins Center on Dec. 15, checks into the poll at No. 4, while Tennessee, Fairfield, George Mason and Saint Joseph's also picked up votes and will face the Spiders during the 2024-25 season.
The USA TODAY Sports Preseason Coaches' Poll is determined by a panel of 31 Division I head coaches from the Women's Basketball Coaches Association.
