Brashear and Wiley Capture Doubles Title, Qualify for Conference Masters

RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond men's tennis team duo of Cole Brashear and Davis Wiley captured the doubles title this past weekend in the Atlantic 10 Conference Masters Qualifier. With the title win, the duo qualified for the Conference Masters tournament on November 7 with the site to be announced.

The duo began their campaign downing Filip Horak/William Lokier (Fordham) 8-6 in the opening round before breezing past Niza Simunyola/Monil Lotikar (GMU) 8-4. Brashear and Wiley captured the title with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Brady Hussey/Kyle McNally (Dayton).

In singles action, the duo each split a pair of matches as Wiley dropped a tight 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 battle to German Samofalov (VCU) in the opening round before picking up a 6-3, 4-6, [10-3] win over William Lokier (Fordham). Brasher dropped a tough match to Juan Camilo Perez (DAV) 6-3, 6-0 before bouncing back and defeating Ernesto Ruy (SJU) 6-4, 7(7)-6(4) in the consolation bracket.
