Lena Amare Swims Her Way to Rookie of the Week

WASHINTON, D.C. – On Tuesday, the Atlantic 10 Conference announced the weekly awards for swimming and diving. Among the award winners was freshman Lena Amare, earning her first A-10 Rookie of the Week honor.Â

A native of Fairhope, Ala., Amare competed in two events at the Penn and ECU Dual Meet last Saturday. In the 400-IM, Amare swam to second place finish at 4:24.01, which is the second-best time in the conference. She also competed in the 200-free and finished in fourth. Her time of 1:53.52 in the event is eighth in the A-10.
