Spiders Power Past Robert Morris Saturday, 23-7

Richmond, Va. – The No. 20 University of Richmond men's lacrosse team blew past Robert Morris, 23-7, during a neutral site game hosted at Georgetown Prep. in North Bethesda, Md. Saturday.
Richmond's 23 goals ties for second most in program history, while Aidan O'Neil, who led the Spiders with six goals and six assists, tied the program record for most points in a single game, also held by Ryan Lanchbury who pulled off the feat twice (March 20, 2021 at Bellarmine and April 25, 2021 at Mercer). O'Neil's six goals tie for the second most in a single game in program history and his six assists are third all-time for the Spiders.
Also joining O'Neil with multi-point games were Dalton Young (5 goals, 3 assists), Luke Grayum (3 goals, 1 assist), Henry Alpaugh (2 goals), Brendan Murphy (1 goal, 1 assist), Gavin Creo (1 goal, 1 assist) and Lucas Littlejohn (2 goals, first collegiate points). Charlie Packard, Lukas Olsson and Lance Madonna added a goal each.
Richmond (1-1) jumped to an early 7-0 lead by the 4:29 mark of the first quarter and would later go on scoring runs of three (3x) and five goals. Robert Morris went on a three-goal run of their own late in the second quarter to bring the game within five goals at 4-9, but that would be the closest the Colonials (0-1) would get for the remainder of the game.
Zach Vigue and Connor Knight split time in goal, each playing two quarters. Vigue got the start and recorded four saves while Knight added one. Jared Chenoy (11-20), Jackson Strickland (4-11) and Anthony DiCenso (1-3) each took turns at the face off dot.
Braden McClure came up with three ground balls and two caused turnovers, while freshman Nate Murphy also added a pair of caused turnovers.
