Pair of Spiders Take Home Weekly Awards

Richmond, Va. — University of Richmond men's lacrosse players Jack Pilling and Gavin Creo were named Atlantic 10 Defensive Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively, announced by the conference Monday afternoon.

Pilling, a sophomore from Upper Dublin, Pa. earns his first Atlantic 10 weekly award after leading the Spiders defense during Richmod's 9-5 win over High Point Saturday night. The defensive midfielder recorded a career-high five caused turnovers, scooped a ground ball and also came up with an assist in the win that put Richmond at 3-0 in conference contests and his five caused runners ranks eighth all-time for the Spiders.

Creo, a freshman Rockville Centre, N.Y. native, earns his third Rookie of the Week honor this season after recording two goals on three shots and a ground ball in Richmond's win.

Up next, Pilling, Creo and the rest of the Spiders travel to UMass for the team's final road contest of the regular season. Face off is set for noon Saturday at Garber Field.
