Richmond, Va. — Inside Lacrosse released its 2024 All-America lists, with University of Richmond players Dalton Young, Zach Vigue and Jack Pilling landing as honorable mentions.
Young, an attackman who recently signed with the Denver Outlaws of the Premier Lacrosse League and was named an All-American Honorable Mention by USA Lacrosse last week, was named a Tewaaraton nominee during his best season yet where he finished with the second-most points ever by a Spider in a season with 75 (36 goals, 39 assists). Young is second all-time in career points for the Spiders with 261 (146g, 115a). Young was named to the Atlantic 10's First Team and earned the title of Offensive Player of the Year for the second year in a row.
The A-10 Co-Goalkeeper of the Year, Vigue, earns his first All-America nod after he helped the Spiders reach fifth in the nation in scoring defense, holding teams to just 9.38 goals per game. Vigue ranked fourth in the nation and second in the A-10 in goals against average at 9.26 and was 11th in save percentage (first in A-10) at .556. Against Duke, Vigue helped the Spiders force the Blue Devils to match a then-season low in goals with 12. At the time, Duke was the nation's top scoring offense and averaged 18.29 goals per game.
Short-stick defensive midfielder Jack Pilling had a breakout season where he was responsible for 31 ground balls and 12 caused turnovers while also dishing out four points (2g, 2a) out of the defensive midfield. Against High Point, he recorded a career-high five caused turnovers which ranks eighth all-time for the Spiders.
