Muldoon Named to IWLCA South Region First Team

Northborough, Mass. – University of Richmond women's lacrosse junior Grace Muldoon has been named to the IWLCA (Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association) South Region First Team, announced by the organization on Thursday. The IWLCA has honored 128 student-athletes in Division I with a selection to one of the All-Region teams for 2024. These student-athletes are now eligible to be named to a national IWLCA All-American team. The IWLCA will announce the 2024 IWLCA Division I All-American teams on May 23.
Muldoon, a 2024 junior from Bethesda, Md. recently wrapped up her third year with the Spiders, leading the program to its second consecutive Atlantic 10 title and NCAA Tournament appearance. She was named the Atlantic 10 Midfielder of the Year and a member of the Midfield All-Conference First Time prior to the conference tournament after posting big numbers in the regular season. Following strong performances in both the semi-finals matchup against Davidson and championship game versus UMass, Muldoon was named the Most Outstanding Player by the conference, earning a spot on the All-Tournament team as well. She posted 9 points, 5 goals, 4 assists, 12 draw controls, 5 ground balls and 5 caused turnovers in the conference tournament alone. On May 9, Muldoon was listed as a USA Lacrosse All-American (honorable mention) before the team made the trip to Philadelphia, Pa. for the first round of the NCAA Tournament where the Spiders faced the No. 8 nationally ranked Penn squad.
Muldoon ended her junior campaign with 59 points, 37 goals, 22 assists, a .544 shooting percentage, 61 draw controls, 34 ground balls and 20 caused turnovers. Her success in the draw circle put her at No. 1 on the team in the stat category as the season concluded. She started and played in all 19 games of the 2024 season.
