Nwakalor and Dragosavac Earn CSCAA Scholar All-America Honors

Richmond, Va. – Freshman Melissa Nwakalor (Columbia, MD.) and graduated senior Lola Dragosavac (Lake Mary, FL.) have earned College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-American honors for their performances in the classroom and the pool this season. The award recognizes student-athletes who achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or higher and were invited to compete at their respective national championship.
Seven Atlantic 10 programs were represented on the list. The Spiders two representatives were tied for third-most, behind a group of seven members from George Washington and a group of four from Fordham.
Nwakalor, the 2024 Atlantic 10 50 free champion rounded out a remarkable freshman campaign in March. At her first conference championship appearance, Nwakalor walked away with three medals (1st – 50 free, 2nd – 200 free relay, 3rd – 400 free relay). She was named the Atlantic 10 Swim and Dive Rookie of the Week twice through the season (1/30/24 & 2/13/24). Nwakalor has been named to the CSCAA Scholar All-America 2ndteam after an impressive year not only in the pool, but in the classroom as well.
Dragosavac represented Richmond at the 2024 NCAA Diving Zones in Princeton, NJ. this March. After setting her qualifying mark and personal best of 265.5 points against JMU in January on the 1-meter board, Dragosavac tallied a 211.4 score for 59th place in the national competition. The graduated senior had strong performances at the Atlantic 10 championships as well, finishing 8th in the 1-meter (239.65 points) and 15th in the 3-meter (221.75). Dragosavac has been honored as a member of the CSCAA Scholar All-America 2ndteam after leading the Spiders in the pool and in the classroom.
