Mooney hires Lafond to Complete Men’s Basketball Staff

RICHMOND, Va. — Andrew Lafond has been named Video Coordinator for the Richmond Men's Basketball team, Spider Athletics announced Wednesday. With Lafond's appointment, the Spiders coaching staff has been finalized for the 2024-25 season.
Lafond will manage all aspects of the team's video operations while also contributing to opponent scouting, player recruitment, and team camps. He comes to Richmond with experience at both the professional and collegiate levels. Lafond assisted in the Basketball Operations office of the Detroit Pistons in 2024 and also spent two years as a Graduate Assistant at La Salle University, his alma mater.
Lafond played for La Salle as an undergraduate student from 2018 to 2022, appearing in 16 games over that span and being named to the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll twice. After earning his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting during his playing career, Lafond completed his Master's of Business Administration while serving as a Graduate Assistant.
Lafond prepped at Archbishop Wood in Warminster, Pa., where he helped the team a Philadelphia Catholic League championship and state title as a junior.
