Spider Field Hockey Picked to Finish Fourth; Larripa Named Preseason All-Atlantic 10
08/27/2024 | Field Hockey
RICHMOND, Va. – Sophomore Clara Larripa has been named to the Preseason All-Atlantic 10 Conference team, the league announced Tuesday. First-year head coach Martu Loncarica's program was projected to finish fourth in 2024, as voted on by league coaches.
Larripa, a native of Buenos Aires, Argentina, looks to build upon a stellar freshman season with Loncarica's La Salle program in 2023. Larripa led the Explorers with 27 points on 12 goals and three assists, including four game-winning goals. Last season, she scored the game-winner over VCU to secure La Salle's first A-10 tournament berth since 2011. She also collected 2023 A-10 First Team and NFHCA Mid-Atlantic All-Region First Team accolades after pacing the conference in goals, and ranking second in game-winning goals and third in total points.
The Loncarica era of Spider Field Hockey begins Friday, when Richmond hosts No. 18 Old Dominion at Crenshaw Field for a 3 p.m. match-up to kick off the 2024 season. Fans can attend for free or subscribe to ESPN-Plus (stateside) or the Atlantic 10's international feed.
