Spiders Stymie Flyers Early, Fall in Close Match at Home Versus Dayton

RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond women's soccer team turned in a gritty first-half performance before falling 1-0 to Dayton Thursday afternoon at President's Field. The Spiders move to 3-6-3 overall and 0-4-0 in Atlantic 10 play, while the Flyers remain unbeaten in conference action at 7-3-2, 4-0-0.

Richmond came out strong in the opening half, holding the Flyers scoreless through the first 45 minutes behind organized defense and a standout effort from Spider keeper Veronica Rrapi, who tallied five saves before the break. The Spiders also created solid attacking moments as Emma Newman and Marisa Snee each registered first-half shots, including Newman's attempt on frame in the 28th minute.
