Spider Hockey Adds Two BigTen Graduate Transfers in Horwitz, Nicholls

RICHMOND, Va. – Richmond field hockey head coach Martu Loncarica is excited to announce that the Spiders have added two graduate transfers to the program. Leah Horwitz, from the University of Maryland, and Elen Nicholls, from Indiana University will join the squad in the fall for the 2026 season.
Horwitz, a native of Sullivan's Island, S.C., saw action in 27 games for the Terps over three seasons as a part of the attack. Horwitz tallied her first collegiate goal against Lock Haven in the 2024 season and picked up an assist in a shutout against Iowa.
Nicholls, a defender from Cardiff, Wales, started in 36 contests as a defender in her two seasons at Indiana. Prior to joining the Hoosiers, Nicholls played in 17 games and made three starts for the University of Delaware collecting three assists.
