Richmond, Va. — Two University of Richmond men's lacrosse standouts have been named Under Armour Atlantic 10 Men's Lacrosse Players of the Week, with graduate goalie Zach Vigue earning Defensive Player of the Week honors and sophomore attackman Lucas Littlejohn being recognized as Offensive Player of the Week.
Littlejohn set career highs with four goals, two assists, two caused turnovers, and two ground balls in Richmond's 13-10 win over #7 Virginia. Vigue recorded 14 saves, led the Spiders with a career-high seven ground balls, tallied a career-high two caused turnovers, and also registered the first point of his career with an assist in the victory.
The win marked Richmond's first over a ranked opponent since 2022 and their second-ever victory over the Cavaliers, with this win being their first in Charlottesville. The triumph also propelled the Spiders into the top 15 in the national polls. Richmond now sits at No. 11 in the USA Lacrosse Magazine Media Poll, No. 13 in the Inside Lacrosse KANE Men's DI Media Poll, and No. 14 in the USILA Coaches Poll. The No. 11 ranking in the USA Lacrosse Magazine Media Poll ties the program's highest-ever ranking, matching their best since 2019.
Vigue, Littlejohn, and the rest of the Spiders will return to the road on Saturday, Feb. 22, when they travel to Lehigh for the first time. Game time is set for noon.
