Beasley, Doroh Sweep A-10 Women's Golf Weekly Awards

RICHMOND, Va. — Junior Maya Beasley and freshman Addie Doroh captured the Atlantic 10's first weekly women's golf awards of the season, the conference announced Tuesday. Beasley was named A-10 Women's Golfer of the Week and Doroh was named A-10 Women's Golf Rookie of the Week for their performances at the season-opening Tribe Invitational, which the Spiders won by a program-record 31 strokes.
Beasley registered her first career individual win at the event, taking medalist honors with a 1-over 217 over 54 holes to become the 11th different Spider to win an individual event in program history. Beasley also won the final A-10 Women's Golfer of the Week award last season in mid-April following her 11th-place finish at Maryland's Terp Invitational.
Doroh, making her collegiate debut, placed fifth at the Tribe Invitational at 9-over par (225). She closed the event with an even-par 72, leading all Spiders in Round 3 and tying for the the lowest round of the day among the 30 players in the field.
Beasley, Doroh, and the rest of the Spiders will return to action next month at the Pirate Collegiate Classic in Greenville, N.C. on Oct. 6-7.
