Knight Earns Tewaaraton Watch List Nod
03/26/2026 | Men's Lacrosse
WASHINGTON — Redshirt junior goalie Connor Knight has been added to the 2026 Tewaaraton Award Watch List, the foundation announced Thursday. The award annually honors the top male and female college lacrosse players in the United States and is the lacrosse equivalent of football's Heisman Trophy
Knight is one of 11 second-round additions to the list, joining an already announced group that includes Richmond teammates Aidan O'Neil, Hunter Smith, Jack Pilling and Joe Sheridan.
Knight is off to an 8–0 start as Richmond's full-time starter and anchors the nation's fourth-ranked scoring defense, which is allowing just 7.50 goals per game. Individually, Knight ranks third in the NCAA in both goals-against average (7.50) and save percentage (.583).
As a team, the Spiders have outscored opponents 126–60 and own the nation's second-best scoring margin (+8.25). Richmond has won seven of its eight games by at least four goals, including six victories by six or more.
Five men's and five women's finalists will be announced in early May. The Tewaaraton Award recipients will be selected following the conclusion of the collegiate lacrosse season and will be honored live at the Tewaaraton Ceremony on May 28 in Washington, D.C.
