RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond men's tennis team secured a 4-2 victory over Fordham Saturday afternoon at the Westhampton Tennis Complex to wrap up the regular season. With the win, the Spiders improve to 13-8 on the spring season and move to 2-2 in Atlantic 10 play, while the Rams fall to 8-14.

How It Happened
Richmond jumped in front early by claiming the doubles point with wins on courts three and one. Charlie Burdell and Grant Cohen set the tone with a 6-3 victory on court three before Cole Brashear and Davis Wiley followed with a 7-5 win at the top spot to clinch the point. The No. 2 pairing of Paxton Pritchard and Sam Rathmanner trailed 5-4 when the match went unfinished.

In singles play, the Spiders built their lead with a dominant performance from Cole Brashear on court six, where he rolled to a 6-2, 6-0 victory to give Richmond a 2-0 advantage. Fordham answered with back-to-back wins on courts four and one, as Filip Horak defeated Dylan Atkinson 6-4, 6-4 and Mateusz Gradzki topped Davis Wiley 7-5, 6-3 to even the match at 2-2.

Richmond regained control behind Paxton Pritchard on court three, who delivered a straight-set win, 6-2, 7-6 (7-4), to put the Spiders back in front. Otto Sewell then clinched the match on court five, battling through a tight opening set tiebreak before securing a 7-6 (7-3), 6-2 victory to seal the 4-2 result. Charlie Burdell's match on court two went unfinished with the sophomore leading in the second set.
