Spiders Earn No. 5 Seed in A-10 Championship, Set for Quarterfinal Matchup Thursday in Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. – The University of Richmond men's tennis team has earned the No. 5 seed for the 2026 Atlantic 10 Championship and will open postseason play Thursday, April 23 at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla.
The Spiders will face No. 4 seed George Mason in the quarterfinal round, with first serve set for 9 a.m.
Richmond enters the championship with a 13-7 overall record and a 2-2 mark in Atlantic 10 play, closing the regular season, winning its final seven matches, including a 4-2 victory over Fordham. Richmond also posted an 11-3 record at home during the spring season.
At the top of the lineup, senior Davis Wiley leads the team with a 14-5 record in dual singles while competing at No. 1. Wiley recorded wins in 11 of his last 12 completed matches entering postseason play.
Charlie Burdell holds a 11-5 dual singles mark, while Cole Brashear has posted an 8-4 record, including a 2-0 mark in Atlantic 10 matches. Otto Sewell enters the tournament on a five-match winning streak and sits at 8-8 in dual play.
Sam Rathmanner has recorded a 6-4 dual singles record and enters the postseason on a six-match winning streak. Nathan Germino has added a 5-2 mark, while Grant Cohen is 4-0 and Drew Holland is 2-0.
In doubles, the pairing of Wiley and Brashear leads the team with a 15-4 record, primarily at the No. 1 position. Burdell and Cohen have combined for a 4-1 mark, while Pritchard and Rathmanner are 8-8.
The winner will advance to Friday's semifinal round to face the winner of the top half of the bracket, which includes No. 1 seed VCU.
